Charity begins at home.
Oh sorry the government is on an austerity drive, didn’t you know that, see this. You will know that only clause 2 was applied with full spirit, so the frequent electricity cuts. All the other “things” that the government didn’t wanted to “do” were done and the “things” government wanted to “do” were done away with. Confused read on, only the people were given special doses of austerity, shown by frequent cuts in electricity.
One insider from the government, on the condition of anonymity disclosed that austerity drive was strictly adhered to. “The Chief Minster could have raised his monthly salary to Rs. One lakh but he didn’t because of the austerity drive”. It might be out of context to mention here that the Chief Minsters salary has been raised to Rs. 70 thousand. “We don’t need any salary, we take it as a parsad from the people, and we only need to use our position to influence various departments and get monetary benefits” (see this). But other politician didn’t agree with his views, “We need salary as well as other “things” as well and use our positions to influence various departments to get monetary benefits”, said a well know politician, who has been reportedly misquoted by numerous news agencies several times. “ter! #@@ $!”, he started abusing us the moment we asked him several question about his economic condition, given the fact he came from a came from a poor family of farmers which couldn’t make their ends meet and he now owns five concrete houses, seven shops, eleven vehicle and a band saw mill.
Coming back to austerity, rather going away from it, the government has decided to provide brand new laptops to every sitting MLA, most of whom are semi literate and computer illiterate, not to mention most of them do nothing but sitting and occasional shouting. Recently they were found on facebook poking their political rivals. “I love Texas Hold’em”, he was taking about a popular facebook game. “I have earned a lot of money, now I have to find ways to obtain this money and use it to augment the government expenditure” he added while showing concern for the people of J&K.
Here are some stats:-
Salary of C.M. = Rs. 700000 p.m.
Salary of MLA,MLC etc = Rs. 600000 p.m.
Salary of ReT (contractual teacher) = Rs. 1500 p.m
Amount spent on the procurement of brand new laptops = Rs. 60lakhs
Amount given as compensation to 24 residents of Sopore whose houses were completely damaged by the armed forces during an encounter with militants = Rs. 24lakhs.
