Finally after years of speculation the Working group of GOI decided to give a revival to the erstwhile Auto-Nomi™, the once popular car of Kashmir. “We have kept the basic design of the car as it was”, Justice (Retd.) Saghir Ahmad, while speaking at a press conference here in Srinagar. “We have sent our recommendations to GOI, now it is up to them to decide”, he added. Auto-Nomi™ was stopped from production in the year 1953, and now there is a widespread apprehension about its success. Recent surveys done by some private TV channel show that people prefer Freedom™ more than Auto-Nomi™, but this hasn’t deterred some of its old fans, who have formed a fan club called NC in its memory . “Auto-Nomi™ is the way ahead”, shouted Ali Mohammed Sagar, a die hard Auto-Nomi™ fan.
