At a distance of 10 km from the Gilgit city this is a rock carving in the valley of Kargah known as Kargah Nala in local language. This was carved in seventh century and excavated in 1938-1939. The local legends about the Buddha tells of a tale describing that an ogress named Yakhsni was devoured by a man who lived at Kargah.
